History

Drew was born in the large town of Lusta Oklahoma. Fitting in was always nearly impossible for him. Even in his own family. Due to his similarities to his grandfather on his father's side, his parents, though they loved him, were not fond of his appearance. Drew did not mind his parent's slight disapproval, though. He found comfort in the internet and discovering his interests in metal and goth music, fashion, dark circus performing, horror stories and video games, singing, and reading. His parents were more than happy to support his unusual, dark interests and provided him with gothic clothing, music, and gave him all the books and video games he wanted. Still, he could sense their displeasure in his appearance and interests, but he did not care. As long as they loved him, it didn't matter.

When Drew was four years old, his parents had another child they named Andy. Andy looked much more like his mother with his light brown hair, brown eyes, and darker fur. This caused his parents to show favoritism towards him over Drew. Yet, still, Drew did not care and did not resent his little brother. In fact, as they grew up together, the brothers formed an incredibly close bond. Andy looked up to Drew and saw him as the coolest person ever. This made Drew very happy.

Growing up, Drew realized he had some mental abnormalities. He suffered from depression and anxiety. After many meetings with psychiatrists and therapists, he was put on medications. This also left his parents wary and emotionally distant, knowing his grandfather went through the same emotional struggles. Still, they gave him all the love and support they could. Andy was especially helpful. Despite his young age and not having the conditions himself, his sympathy and empathy always helped Drew heal from his bouts of negative emotions.

In middle school, Drew stood out from all the students for his gothic style and interests. Though he sometimes struggled in classes, his effort paid off and he entered high school.

One day, at age 15, he heard of a concert taking place in a well-known place in his town called the Burrow. An underground town built in the early 60s that was once a massive mining city abandoned in the 1910s. The Burrow was fully of stone underground tunnels and chambers with businesses perfect for people society would consider 'abnormal.' Upon entering the enormous brick entrance to the Burrow and basking in the neon lights of the buildings, Drew knew he found where he belonged.

Over time, he encouraged other goths from his school to join him at the underground town. It took no time at all for them to become very close friends.

One day, however, Drew's newfound joy took a turn for the absolute worst. His brother Andy, along with ten other kids were abducted in a fake school bus pickup. Drew was completely mad with anxiety when he learned of his brother's kidnapping.

For a few days he was trapped in a state of psychosis. It was so strong a dark, painful force seemed to infect his body. One that cursed him with disturbing powers.

It took a lot of willpower to overcome his shattered mental state. Sadly, his parents, distraught over their favorite child's disappearance, could not offer much comfort for him. Again, he did not mind. He understood his parents' feelings for Andy and did not hate them for being unable to help him.

Years passed, and Drew continued making friends in the Burrow and struggling through high school. In his senior year, he met a chinchilla girl named Magenta Foster. Magenta loved all things goth and admired Drew for his coolness. He was flattered and encouraged by her admiration and gained confidence from her friendship.

One day, he confided in Magenta for his constant, nonstop worry for his younger brother. Magenta offered to pray to Maya for his return, and Drew thanked her.

A year after he graduated from high school and started college, something amazing, yet strange happened. After years of being missing, Andy and all the other missing kids returned home. Though the families were thankful and relieved to have their children back, none of them could remember what happened to them during the years they were missing. Drew's parents did not care. They were glad to have their favorite son back. Drew was overcome with joy to have his precious little brother back. He credited Magenta's prayers to his return. Still, the mystery of Andy and the other kids' disappearances was still ongoing in investigation.

Through countless events of heartbreak, learning from mistakes, and changing for the better through years of college work and enjoying the freedom of the Burrow, Drew formed an adult circus performance group and rock band known as The Under Dwellers. He and his closest friends are now some of the most popular people of the Burrow.

He is currently in a relationship with Magenta.

He and his friends and allies strive to protect the Burrow and their loved ones from the threat of hate, unacceptance, and the religious cult out to destroy their will, the Matterhorns.

Personality

Due to his struggles with his depression and anxiety, there are times when Drew can exhibit behavior described as 'volatile,' 'intimidating,' and 'disdainful.' He sometimes yells and emotionally lashes out when deeply upset or angered. Though he never acts this way towards his loved ones, most strangers are often cautious when approaching him in a fragile emotional state. Still, he would never attack unless attacked and keeps himself physically stable the best he can. However, towards truly bad people, he sometimes slips up and lashes out physically when truly enraged or threatened. Especially when his loved ones are involved.

Despite his mental struggles, to those closest to him, especially his friends, Drew is incredibly gentle, understanding, protective, funny, cool, hard working, strong, determined, brave, and affectionate. He refuses to give up, works hard to be stronger both physically and mentally, loves a good laugh, faces his fears tremendously, and loves to give hugs. He is also ferociously protective and is not afraid to get hurt defending those he cares for. When needed, he is gentle, soft-spoken, and deeply compassionate.

He can't stand injustice or mistreatment towards people like him who are considered 'abnormal' in society. He has a deep distaste for those who use religion as a way of hurting and not accepting others. Though his parents are quite religious, he is not. Still, thanks to Magenta, he is a believer in Maya and her care for all living things in the world.

Skills

Drew is often considered a very violent fighter. His long, rectangular claws can cut deep into attackers and leave them with painful scratches and lacerations. He is also very resistant to pain thanks to his dark nature powers. His blood is naturally thick and his wounds close in a matter of minutes.

His sense of smell is quite strong and he can identify several scents and identify people through scent. His hearing is also quite acute and he can handle extremely loud environments.

By far Drew's most infamous strength is his poisonous saliva. Like all shrews, when his saliva is ingested or enters the bloodstream, it can cause temporary paralysis and pain. Often times in battle he licks his claws to secrete them in poison to empower his attacks with paralysis.

Besides his physical strengths, Drew is quite talented in acting and negotiating. He can intimidate and persuade quite effectively when confronted by strangers.

Extras

Drew is an omnivore, but deeply prefers meat over vegetables. He loves fruit, though. Especially green grapes. His favorite food is peanut butter sandwiches. His favorite drink is dizzy fizzy soda.

Drew has several scars on his back from a time he was captured by the Matterhorns and whipped on his back with a long, thick rope. The scar on his face was from being slashed on the face with a machete by a female member of the cult.

His singing is hardcore and metal and requires a lot of screaming, high intensity vocals, and eerie growls much like Marylin Manson.

His dark circus acts often involve breaking objects, balancing on beams, and scenes of fake, staged torture like blood letting, strangulation, and hanging upside-down. All of which are faked with special props and effects. He also enjoys dark poetry and shares his writing in open mic events.

He is a diehard fan of a goth band called Dark Cover Defects. Their lead singer, Andrew Biersack, is his hero and inspiration. Some people make fun of him for this as Dark Cover Defects has more female fans than male, but Drew doesn't care. His brother Andy and lover Magenta are huge fans of the band and singer, too.
