Story:

Zarkross was born and raised in the poor borderlands of Vorika. His mother died shortly after he hatched due to problems from being gravid. His father had to work hard at multiple jobs to support the family, leaving Zarkross in the care of his older brothers. His brothers hated him from the moment he hatched, blaming him for their mother's death and never desiring another mouth to feed. By the time Zarkross was 5 years old, his brothers started bullying him. ​

The older Zarkross got, the worse his brother's torment became. His eldest brother, Smike, was particularly cruel towards him. Whenever Zarkross dared to stand up to him, he would have his other two brothers old him down while he smothered him with a pillow or his choking smoke breath. This form of torture left Zarkross with a fear of being suffocated. His father was no help. He was too busy working to support the family to bother with stopping the bullying.

What made Zarkross's childhood even more difficult, was his clairvoyant powers. By looking a person in the eyes, he could see visions of events of the past or future seen by them. Sometimes, when Zarkross looked into his brothers' or father's eyes, he would see visions of his mother. Seeing what a kind and gentle person she was, he often wondered why she would sacrifice her life to bring him into the world.

Growing up, Zarkross used training as a coping mechanism for the pain he suffered. Whenever it rained outside, he would venture away to practice his lightning element and melee skills against wandering beasts.
​
One day, at the age of 16, Zarkross's brothers, led by Smike, approached with rolls of tape and rope. He knew this torturous bullying was going to be worse than any he had experienced before. For the first time in his life, Zarkross fought back against his tormentors with all his might. The battle was so fierce it shook the earth beneath them, disturbing the neighbors. When the violent fight ended, Zarkross stood victorious over his unconscious brothers.

Seconds later, his father swooped in, shocked by what Zarkross had done. Zarkross tried to tell him why he did this, but to his shock, his father attacked him in a blinding rage. He was clawed across the face and left with horribly deep wounds. His father then screamed at him for viciously beating his brothers and assured him he would be punished severely. Terrified and furious, Zarkross made the choice to run away from home and never return. In the wake of a massive thunderstorm, he spread his wings and flew off, unsure of his future but feeling free for the first time in his life. ​

For years Zarkross lived as a homeless rogue who stole to survive. He slept in abandoned buildings and ruins and stole anything he needed or desired. From food and drinks to comics and apparel. He got caught and imprisoned once in a while, but did not care. Life as a rogue was preferable over being tortured by his brothers.
​
One day, he had a bitter, violent encounter with Skydan the Sky Blue Warrior at a festival honoring heroes. He had attempted to steal a precious treasure that belonged to Skydan's father. When Skydan tried to stop him, the struggled ended with the artifact falling and shattering. ​Enraged, Skydan attacked, leading to a ferocious fight. During the battle, Skydan slashed Zarkross across the abdomen. As Zarkross bled out, he had a clairvoyant vision. In it, he saw glimpses of Skydan's future. A bright, prosperous, happy future full of respect, recognition, and love from others.
​
When he awakened in the hospital, Zarkross felt a newfound disdain for Skydan. He escaped the city, and swore he would never let Skydan knock him down and humiliate him ever again.
​
Life for Zarkross continued on. Surviving on stealing and fighting.
​
Eventually, a young zephyrman woman and a dragonman priest came into his life and changed it forever.

Powers and Abilities:
​​
Much like Skydan, Zarkross's fighting abilities are much stronger than most his age. This is a result of his intense training to cope with his harsh life struggles.
​
His lightning element is extremely powerful. It is colored lavender, which is quite rare. Its shock power is capable of paralyzing beasts up to 12 feet tall and 1600 pounds. He can unleash multiple electric streams at once and unleash a fury of electricity from his body. His manipulation skills are also well above average, and he can control and modify his attacks with ease, allowing multiple varieties of moves and techniques. Despite this great power, it comes at the cost of stamina. If he uses his element too strongly for too long, he can become exhausted. Sometimes to the point that he passes out.
​
His melee skills are also well above average. Despite being a little thin from light eating as a rogue, his physical strength is more powerful than most his size and weight. His main strength is his speed and reflexes. He can move at tremendous speed and attack and dodge quicker than most opponents. His claws are also abnormally long and sharp and capable of ripping through thick fabric like denim.

Zarkross's clairvoyant abilities are not very powerful or well controlled, thus they are rarely useful in combat. He cannot choose when to have visions. They always occur without warning and without his consent. Visions of the past or future are seen through the eyes of those he makes eye contact with. Two factors that likely trigger these visions are intense emotions and physical pain. It is not confirmed, but Zarkross suspects from experience that strong mental and physical feeling coincide with when visions occur.
​
One skill Zarkross excels in tremendously is his flight. He is capable of flying perfectly in the roughest, most difficult conditions. This is because he would often fly in stormy weather during his childhood to escape his brothers. All those years of practice made Zarkross a truly admirable flier capable of conquering ferocious winds and pelting rain.

Personality
Though Zarkross is understandably a cold and disdainful individual, he is not necessarily a bad person. He would never maliciously attack an innocent person or resort to extreme violence. He also never steals from the poor. He keeps his sense of morality strong thanks to his visions of his mother. Still, he never smiles, is quite pessimistic, and prefers to keep to himself. It is difficult for him to open up to others due to his lifelong suffering.
​
However, if a person's kindness and understanding is somehow able to reach his cold, lonely heart, he will show a soft, calm side to him nobody else ever sees. Even to those closest to him he rarely smiles, though. Often times he must force himself to smile as it does not come naturally to him.
​
There are times Zarkross's anger can boil over and lead to fights and confrontations. He is not afraid of getting hurt and fights without fear.
​
Underneath his coldness and bitter nature, Zarkross has a deep sadness in his heart. Despite this, he never cries. He conceals his suffering with a desire to survive, frustration, and a negative outlook on life.

His favorite food is tomatoes. He sometimes enjoys biting into them like apples.

The lavender markings on his wings and horn tips are bioluminescent and glow brightly when his emotions run high.
