Story:

All her life, Jewela was pampered and adored by everyone in the Pearl Clan. Her father would constantly tell her she was precious and destined to be loved by everyone around her. However, the absence of her mother in her life and witnessing the neglect her older brother Finross got from her father made Jewela constantly doubt all the special treatment. Known as the Darling Pearl, she was treated like a beautiful treasure, but all it did was cause her guilt and confusion.

One day, at the age of 9, she dared to question her father about her real mother's whereabouts. This caused her dad to fly into a terrible rage, nearly injuring her as he violently tossed objects and furniture around the mansion. Finross was forced to intervene with his blood element. Immobilizing his father, he protected Jewela from his wrath. Since then, Jewela came to deeply admire and respect her half-brother.

As she got older, Jewela's beauty became well known throughout the sea. Many young men wished to win her heart, but Jewela couldn't stand boys who valued her for her appearance and innocence. Some who managed to befriend her briefly seemed disappointed that she was not as submissive as other claimed she was. Not wanting to be seen as a weak, charming princess meant to be cared for all the time, Jewela wished to become stronger.

Sadly, due to Finross being overprotective, he failed to succeed in training her effectively. In her spare time, Jewela would train in elemental combat by herself. 

​

One day, Finross was sent on a task to meet with the Marlin Clan. After begging to go with them, Jewela accompanied her brother and his friends, the Deep Blue Band. 

​

On their visit to the Marlin Clan's hidden city in Desert Cove, Jewela met a warrior named Cyton. The strong, tough marineman ice swordsman immediately entranced her. To her surprise and delight, Cyton seemed to find her desire to be stronger and her personality very likable. 

​

After the meeting with the clan was over, Cyton offered to join Finross and his friends. The Deep Blue Band accepted him in their group, filling Jewela with joy. 

​

Cyton, admiring Jewela's desire to be strong, agreed to train her in combat. He was tough, but not too tough. Just enough to help her grow well versed in her skills. Over time, they grew closer. However, due to their slight age gap, Cyton seems a bit hesitant to truly express and romantic interest in her. Jewela does not mind, though. She feels one day, perhaps when she is 20 and he is 24, they can become more than friends.

Powers and Abilities:

Jewela's melee combat skills still need improvement to be average level. However, her speed and agility, though not proficient in attacking, allows her to avoid attacks impressively. She can move through the water with great acrobatic maneuvers much like a whale or dolphin. 

​

Though her physical strength is not that impressive, her elemental abilities are slightly above average. Her water can be either pure or scalding. Pure for healing allies and calming foes and scalding for burning stronger opponents. She can manifest her water into various shapes for custom attacks. Though, she has no special, signature elemental attack. 

​

Jewela's most well-known and treasured ability is speaking to and commanding sea creatures. Those who wield this power are known as Whisperers. Hardly any beast can resist her soothing mind, and they submit to her friendship. Following her and protecting her and her friends from danger.

Personality

​

Sweet, innocent, and pleasantly friendly and jolly, Jewela is often seen as a stereotypical happy teen girl of the sea. However, due to the special, royal treatment she always had growing up, she can be a bit immature at times. At times throwing small tantrums or crying when things don't go well for her but regretting her behavior soon after. She loves being on the right track for self-improvement and emotional strengthening.

 

Despite some anxieties, she is overall a joyful, innocent person who loves those close to her and all the creatures her powers help her befriend.

Jewela assumes her pink hair comes from her unknown mother.
