Story:

Born and raised alongside his younger brother Gilltom in the treacherous, bloodthirsty gang known as the Blood Hunters, Yaykose grew to be quite a tough, edgy, and withdrawn marineman. He was always protective of his younger brother, and tried to shield him from their mother's toxic influence. Luckily, their father, who was a prisoner of the Blood Hunters, helped nurture them with love and care in his brief moments of freedom. Yaykose looked up to his father, who was brave, strong, and defiant against the Blood Hunters.

One day, however, their happy moments together were discovered, and their father was driven away from the gang. As punishment for 'softness' Yaykose and Gilltom were ravaged. Brainwashed by dark magic and transformed into violent, battle hungry maniacs. For two years they caused mayhem alongside the merciless pack of brutes.

Out of a desire of rebellion, the brothers decided to venture to the surface. Something that was deeply forbidden for the Blood Hunters. They discovered a deserted island to the southwest and explored the land. After exhausting themselves, they fell asleep on the sands under the blazing light of the sun. When they woke up at sunset, they realized the effects of the ravaging spell were almost gone, and they had regained their true selves. Realizing the sun must have eradicated the evil spell, they decided to stay on the island for a few days to lay in the sun and purify their minds.

On the third day, Yaykose awakened one evening, fully regaining his true self and free of the corruption. With his exceptional hearing, he picked up on the enchanting sound of a woman singing beautifully. Curious, he ventured back into the ocean. Not too far from the shore, he discovered a beautiful mermaid singing on a rock. Mesmerized by her voice and beauty, Yaykose approached her. The mermaid spotted him approaching and flirtatiously thanked him for hearing her song. She introduced herself as Baramelle the Deep Charmer.

The two of them began to talk, and Yaykose ended up telling her his entire life story. The Blood Hunters, his father, the ravaging, and why he was on the island. To his surprise and delight, Baramelle was not frightened or disgusted with his history. Instead, she felt impressed by his strength and sympathy for his suffering. All his life nobody ever felt sympathy for him, so Yaykose felt a connection to the sweet, charming, indulgent mermaid. After their talk, Yaykose promised Baramelle they would meet again, and he returned to the island to rejoin his brother.

After the sun had completely relieved them of the ravaging spell, Yaykose and Gilltom left the island and decided to leave the Blood Hunters forever. Gilltom suggested they both try to join one of the Great Clans. Large groups of warriors that enforce the law and order of the Questaric Sea. Sadly, Yaykose did not like this idea as he knew the clans despised the Blood Hunters and believed despite them being unwilling parts of them, they would be rejected outcasts. The disagreement led to a minor argument, which ended in the brother deciding to part ways to choose different paths. They promised to keep and touch and still see each other.

Yaykose began traveling the Questaric. No home, and no destination, he became a rouge. However, he refused to commit crimes and commited himself to honest work. All the while keeping his origins a secret. At the age of 18, his travels took him to a small volcanic island. On this island, he felt his instincts surge with purpose and fulfillment. Motivation drew him to the lava flows. He then discovered a treasure trove of obsidian. Using various stones and his own claws, he broke off an enormous piece and went back to the ocean. Using a public weapon crafting station, he sharpened the obsidian into a shark tooth shaped blade. He then fit it to a thick carved rod of oceanic coated driftwood. Yaykose was astounded by his creation. A black obsidian blade. Inspired by his accomplishment, he set off to fight powerful opponents.

During his frequent meetups with Baramelle, she suggested he take up bounty hunting to make some impressive profit, mentioning there are always hundreds of poachers wanted across the seas for their atrocious acts of cruelty towards creatures. Taking her advice, Yaykose often searched for wanted posters of illegal hunters, poachers, and other guilty of harming the environment.

His hunts became incredibly successful. So much so he became quite well known throughout the Questaric. Often identified by his weapon, Yaykose became known by criminals and fellow bounty hunters as the Hunter of Hunters.

Over time, Yaykose developed strong romantic feelings for Baramelle and eventually began living with her. He continues to spend time with his brother Gilltom and occasionally socializes with his friends.

Despite his life turning out for the better, Yaykose still harbors a deep grudge against the Blood Hunters. A lot of people still discriminate against him for his past as a Blood Hunter, and he will be forever hateful towards the bloodthirsty gang for forever corrupting his life.

Especially his mother.

Powers and Abilities:

Melee combat is by far Yaykose's strongest skill. His physical strength, speed, and skills are well above average and among the 10% best of his age. His muscles are more than just for show. He can overpower multiple people at once and his strikes are strong enough to crack bones at full strength. His speed is also impressive. Despite his bulky muscles, his is swift and acrobatic and can outmaneuver most foes and creatures.

His black tooth blade is also a mighty force in battle. He usually uses it when fighting larger, strong opponents and beasts. The obsidian is sharp enough to cut through flesh like butter. When holding back, he uses the flat side to smack and bash opponents. Rarely does he go all out and use the deadly sharpness of it.

Yaykose's water element is similar to his brother's due to their genetics and mirrored training. His pulsing water is dark blue with a greenish hue and is brightly saturated. Contact with his water attacks can cause disorientation and dizziness. He is not as skilled at manipulation and attack variety as Gilltom, and often does basic sprays, orbs, and blasts with occasional custom moves. His signature elemental move is a torpedo attack enveloped with water taking the form of a moray eel.

Like his brother, Yaykose possesses the rare 6th sense. He can detect the minute electric fields generated by all living creatures every time he moves a muscle. He is so sensitive he can detect a small, forearm length fish from over half a mile away. He can sense a person from over a mile and a half away.

Personality
Many would describe Yaykose as blunt, cool, edgy, and tough. He rarely smiles, isn't afraid to fight for subtle reasons, and never shows excitement or joy outright, and often has a casual, 'whatever' attitude towards most. However, beneath the coldness he expresses is a desire for companionship and wish for trust. Though he never shows it, the bigotry he faces for his past as a Blood Hunter does weigh on him. The few close friendships he has are his most precious treasures.

He especially feels close to his lover, Baramelle. He loves her deeply, though his behavior is still cool, blunt and edgy. Still, he expresses his love with romantic affection and kind words.

Despite his rough nature, Yaykose has a sense of humor that he expresses with sarcasm and bluntly humorous comments. Gilltom is the only one who acknowledges his humor, though. Everyone else seems to be turned off by it.
