Story:

​

Koralyn likes to think of herself as different from the bigoted merfolk of the Questaric. She is kind, gentle, soft-hearted, and peaceful. Her family taught her to despise the bigoted merfolk and never be like them. 

​

Sadly, this made Koralyn an outcast among many merfolk groups. Though her heart remained kind, her loneliness began to overtake her. She tried to befriend marineman and other races, but for some reason she never felt happy with them. 

​

One day, at the age of 15, she met a strong, intimidating merman named Searay. For some reason, Koralyn felt drawn to the powerful young man. A desire to be by his side overwhelmed her. So much so she turned a blind eye to his bigotry towards marineman.

​

It did not take long for Searay to notice the young, beautiful mermaid admiring him from afar. To Koralyn's surprise, the intimidating warrior treated her with an uncharacteristic tenderness and compassion. To everyone else he was rough and harsh, but to her he was gentle and sweet. 

​

Though many people tried to warn Koralyn that Searay might be trying to manipulate her, she was convinced there was a good side to the dark, frightening merman she had the ability to bring out. 

​

She put it to the test many times by expressing her dislike for the bigotry towards marineman. Though Searay would never comment whenever she talked about it, she saw no anger from him. Though Searay expressed harshness towards others alone, with Koralyn around, he is a different person.

​

Nobody seems to know why, but the two seem to have a healthy relationship despite their clashing personalities and moral beliefs. 

​

While some see this as a miracle and a hope to Searay becoming a better, kinder person, others harbor a secret fear that Koralyn might not be as kind, softhearted, and gentle as she seems. That deep down, she has a lust for something most people fear and avoid. Dark desires hidden inside a kind, gentle heart.

Powers and Abilities:

Though Koralyn is quite swift and acrobatic, she has very little experience in physical combat and often relies on magic to defend herself. Her water element is pure and has the power to cause drowsiness in those who come in contact with it. She can fire basic attacks like sprays and orbs and manipulate streams, but the offensive power is lacking. 

​

Her main strength lies in her magic talents. She can move medium sized, lightweight objects with psychokinesis, cast sleeping spells with her singing voice, and revive dying plants and coral with her touch. She can also heal potentially fatal injuries. Koralyn also possesses hypnotic abilities. She can lull people into a confused, drowsy state by whispering in their ear.

Personality

​

Koralyn is overall a kindhearted, good-natured person who loves peace and hates confrontation. She is often quiet when she speaks and rarely ever screams or yells. 

​

Though she is often seen smiling, there seems to be an aura of melancholy to her. A loneliness only unseen when around Searay. 

​

One unusual trait of Korayln is her apparent high tolerance to viewing and hearing about violence and disturbing tales. What most would be disturbed by Koralyn seems unfazed. Some believe this is proof that deep down Koralyn has an unsettling, corrupted side. A shadiness that draws her to a person like Searay.

Koralyn considers herself friends with Baramelle, but not Yaykose.

For some reason, she dislikes Trench and Wavoro and tries to avoid them. Some believe it is because of their fun-loving, goofy natures.
