Story:

Skydan's life has always been a shower of praise and high expectations. His parents were famous for being powerful, brave warriors with unimaginable strength and skill. They often fought in battles to defend Vorika from the forces of evil. Sadly, one day, days before Skydan hatched, his parents were killed in a massive battle against a war cult. They did not die for nothing, though. The war was won, bringing the beginning of the Age of the Atmosphere.

Skydan's egg was taken in by Vondere, the king of Ruleroar, the capital of Vorika. All his life he was told of his parents' magnificent accomplishments and legendary strength. Nearly everyone in Ruleroar seemed to expect Skydan to become as great a warrior and hero as them. 

 

However, growing up, and making very close friends over the years, Skydan had no interest in being a hero. Despite his incredible talents for fighting and his desire to make his parents proud, Skydan is a believer in peace and the new modern age. He still trains hard in his elemental and combat abilities, but solely to protect his loved ones and any innocent he comes across. 

 

Vondere often tried to remind Skydan of his parents' legacy and pushed him to follow in their heroic footsteps. Eventually, Skydan could not handle the king's manipulation and the toxic admiration of the citizens and moved out of Ruleroar. 

 

He still visits the city every day to see his friends. Close friends he has had his whole life. The group calls themselves the Skyhoods. Their names are Zondike, Laylee, Raveesha, and Kayo. They are all friends as close as family and support each other as such.

One day, at the age of 16, Skydan met a dragonman girl named Varoura. Varoura was a member of the remnants of the cult that caused the war that killed his parents. The cult was now called, "The Remains." The beautiful young woman's anguish made Skydan feel deep empathy for her. When she told him her story, he decided to befriend her. Over the next year, they spent more time together, and they eventually fell in love. Varoura then ran away from the cult and began living with Skydan at his treehouse on the Awemellow Islands.

Despite some people from the city feeling bitter towards him for not pursuing a path like his parents' Skydan is content with his life. He has what he needs and wants, is blessed with wonderful friends, and the new, modern age is free of conflicts of power and desires for superiority.

For Skydan, life is good.

Powers and Abilities:

Skydan's combat skills are well above the average dragonman his age. Only about 10% of similar citizens of Vorika can match his overall strength. ​

​

His main strength is his element. Skydan's fire is colored bright red and burns hotter than average. He can exhale it very long distances and breath large, explosive fire balls. Enveloping his body in fire and charging, he uses a comet attack. Most impressively, though, he has the ability to summon fiery, explosive forces from his body. An ability very few with the fire element possess. Manipulating his element with magic is not one of his stronger skills, but he is capable of directing his fire slightly. One thing he enjoys that is not for combat is summoning a small heart shaped flame burst. It has no use in battle, but he likes to use it as a sign of affection.

When it comes to physical strength, Skydan is also stronger than most, but not the best. He is fast, strong, and capable of overpowering opponents slightly larger and heavier than him. His knowledge of melee combat allows him to pinpoint weaknesses to gain the upper hand. He is capable of kicking in battle, but is not very flexible. 

​

Skydan is a fast and precise flier. Once again, well above average. Hovering is not a problem for him, and he can make several epic maneuvers like rolls, abrupt stops, sharp turns, and even swoop out of a dive in an instant. 

​

Skydan's most unusual strength is also his biggest curse. A power he inherited from his father. Whenever he becomes angry in a stressful battle, his eyes glow brightly and his rage greatly increases his physical and elemental power. However, though his body is more powerful, his mind is clouded with intense negative emotions. This could lead to carelessness and leave him vulnerable to more precise, complicated retaliation from his foes. Some say this power, known as Red Rage, was how his father was killed in the war. ​​

Personality

Skydan is described by many as one of the most kind, friendliest people they've ever encountered. Especially by those close to him. He is highly empathetic and feels the pain and joy of others. 

​

He can be awkward at times, but loves to be seen as cool. He is modest and dislikes being overly praised for unworthy reasons. 

​

His calm, soothing, friendly nature makes him pleasant to be around. He is never hyperactive and is quite mature for the most part. 

​

Skydan's biggest flaw is his tendency to hold severe grudges against those who deeply do him wrong. The biggest example of this is his deep distaste for Zarkross. He refuses to let go of his bitterness towards him. Another example is his hatred for Vondere. Skydan can't stand the kind for how he raised him and made him miserable and sometimes would go so far as to secretly wish the monarch harm. 

​

These feelings are often kept in check by the love of his friends and Varoura.

​

Extra Facts:

Skydan adores healthy sweets like fruit, honey, and yogurt. 

​

Skydan speaks a little Vorik. (Greek). His favorite phrase is Ποτέ δεν ξέρεις (Poté den xéreis), which means, You Never Know.

​

The main inspiration for Skydan was one of my favorite anime characters. The blue markings on his face are a hint to the character.
